Speaking in the feature, Hygge Property Director Adam Davidson described The Village as:
“A demonstration project to prove you can deliver truly sustainable, design-led outcomes in regional Victoria that rival or even surpass what’s being done in metro areas.”
The article highlights the project’s all-electric homes, renewable energy partnerships, rooftop solar, high-performance building envelope and consistent 8+ star NatHERS ratings.
Importantly, Adam emphasised that performance was embedded across the entire project:
“It’s not like the average is carried by a few high performers. The standard is consistent, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”
The feature also recognised the broader social intent of delivering The Village within new Daylesford neighbourhood – Middleton Field. As Adam noted:
“We wanted to build a place that didn’t feel like a cookie-cutter greenfield development.”
Four homes within the project will be owned by Women’s Property Initiatives (WPI) reinforcing the commitment to inclusive community-building alongside environmental responsibility.
The Village continues to take shape with residents about to move into completed townhouses in the Central block of the projects. For the Hygge team, the national coverage is meaningful as validation of a long-held belief:
“We’ve always believed that sustainability isn’t about one big feature — it’s about a million little decisions that add up to something better.”
Homes in the Northern and Southern blocks will be released for sale this year. Watch this space!
